Professional Bio

Ron entered health care as an Emergency Room Orderly at Harper hospital in 1972. Seeing the EMS medics bringing in patients to the ER drew him to becoming a medic then paramedic with the Detroit Fire Department from 1974-1981. Many of his emergency cases were starting to be cared for by PAs at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Seeing this relatively new profession evolving Ron was accepted at Western Michigan University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Medicine in August of 1983. Since then Ron has worked at several Detroit area hospital systems as a hospitalist PA. He was the lead PA with several hospital systems from 1991 and the Director of PA services at Sinai-Grace Hospital in 2002. He has served on MAPA committees or BOD positions, twice as MAPA president since 1994 and currently is Chair of MAPA's Advocacy Committee.
