MAPA Awards

Nomination Process

MAPA's Nominating Committee administers all MAPA Awards. Nominations can be submitted by members and non-members alike. Self-nominations are also accepted, however you must be a current MAPA member to be eligible for any of the MAPA Annual Awards (Preceptor, Educator and PA of the Year). Nomination materials will include the following:

  1. A written rationale, 500 words maximum detailing why the nominee is deserving of the Award they are being nominated for and how they have influenced you to become the provider you are today.

  2. Award nomination form submission, including the above mentioned rationale, nominee information and you, the nominator's information. 

  3. Letters of recommendation, news articles and other relevant supporting material, if applicable.

All awards will be presented at the MAPA Fall CME Conference on Friday, October 11, where recipients will have the opportunity to say a few words. MAPA will also offer a one-night complimentary stay at the host hotel.

Nominations are due by August 15, 2024.

This is MAPA's most prestigious award and is presented in recognition of an individual who has had a broad and significant impact on the PA profession in Michigan. This award is presented ad hoc and the recipient will be given the opportunity to make an acceptance speech.

MAPA's PA of the Year Award honors a PA who demonstrates exemplary service to the community, exemplifies the PA profession philosophy of providing accessible, quality healthcare to all, and furthers the image of the profession in a positive, meaningful way. Nominate a peer that has consistently been the model of what it is to be a PA.
