Michigan Patients Love Their PA!
1 in 3 Give MI's Healthcare System an F!!
A new Harris Poll commissioned by AAPA finds that Michigan patients wait on average 3.4 weeks for a needed medical appointment and nearly 1 in 3 (31%) give the current healthcare system a failing grade, which is higher than the national average of 26%.
Here are some other key findings from the report:
- 74% of Michigan patients worry about the healthcare workforce shortage impacting them.
- One solution the poll found was to fully utilize the physician associate/physician assistant (PA) workforce.
- 91% of Michigan patients said having a PA on staff makes it easier to get a medical appointment.
- 92% of Michigan patients support updating PA practice laws to allow the state and healthcare system to fully utilize the workforce.
The poll findings come as Michigan PAs push for changes at the state level.
