  • 18 new regulations proposed for Michigan physicians. HB 4472 masks low-performing physicians while impeding high-performing physicians. Michigan retains relatively few physicians who attend Michigan medical schools. HB 4472’s increased regulatory burden and liability costs to high-performing physicians will increase physician brain-drain.
  • 18 new regulations proposed for Michigan PAs. The proposed regulatory scheme assumes PAs are low-performing providers without supporting evidence. HB 4472 includes chart review requirements, limits on rounds in private homes, specialty care restrictions, physician-designed performance reviews and other new regulations never experienced by Michigan PAs since their inception in 1972.
